Lovania family campaign

On November 18, 2021, our world turned upside down, and 4 days later, our daughter began chemotherapy treatments for T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. Thanks to research, we could be confident that our daughter would be cured, and on April 19, 2024, it was finally time to celebrate, to close this chapter and open the next.

Throughout this journey, we have been grateful for all the support and care Lovania has received close to home, at the CHUS Charles-Bruneau Hemato-Oncology Unit, and it quickly became clear to us that we would devote part of our lives to giving back, to helping ease the experience of families who see their child's life threatened. For all children who are not as fortunate, we must continue our research to HEAL MORE. We must not underestimate the side effects of chemotherapy, which affect healthy cells and have short-, medium- and long-term consequences on the quality of life of cured children. We need to HEAL BETTER.

Pediatric cancer in Quebec

• Every day in Quebec, a child is diagnosed with cancer.
• Every week in Quebec, a child dies of cancer.
• Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children aged 0 to 18.
• Cancer strikes 1 in 400 children before the age of 15.
• More than half of these children are under 5 years of age at the time of diagnosis.
• The cure rate for the main types of cancer has risen from 30% in 1980, to over 80% today.
