Mobilizing for a future without cancer
Many of us have been touched, in one way or another, by cancer. Having been close to the beautiful Safia, who left us at the beginning of the summer, and to all her family, we want to get involved with this cause and make a real difference.
For several years now, we've organized a small walk/run/swim challenge at the campground to encourage people to get moving as a family, and we take advantage of the opportunity to make donations to a cause close to our hearts. This year, in Safia's memory, the event will be held in support of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation.
Camping Plage McKenzie pledges to donate $2 for every kilometer walked/run and $10 for every swimmer who completes their swim.

Pediatric cancer in Quebec
- Every day in Quebec, a child is diagnosed with cancer.
- Every week in Quebec, a child dies of cancer.
- Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children aged 0 to 18.
- Cancer strikes 1 in 400 children before the age of 15.
- More than half of these children are under 5 years of age at the time of diagnosis.
- The cure rate for the main types of cancer has risen from 30% in 1980, to over 80% today.
