Together towards a cancer-free childhood

The Fondation Charles-Bruneau has been working in the field of pediatric cancer for over 30 years, with the mission of giving all children with cancer the best possible chance of recovery.

The Foundation's vision

To cure all Quebec children whose cancer is resistant to treatment & to improve the quality of life of children in remission by reducing the serious after-effects of treatment.

Provincial involvement

Over the past 30 years, more than $40 million has been invested in infrastructure to create specialized units adapted to the needs of families. All Quebec children with cancer are cared for in one of these units:

CHU Sainte-Justine (Montreal)
CIUSSS de l'Estrie-CHUS (Sherbrooke)
CHU de Québec-Université Laval (Quebec City)
Montreal Children's Hospital (Montreal)
Still a long way to go for pediatric cancer in Quebec

Thanks to research, the cure rate for the main types of cancer has risen from 35% to 85% in 30 years.
Currently, more than 2,000 children in Quebec have cancer.
Every day, a child in Quebec is diagnosed with cancer.
Every week, a child dies.
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children aged 0 to 18.
