Trail running to benefit the Charles-Bruneau Foundation

Hello,

My name is Francis Latulippe, 37 years old and father of two young children. I was diagnosed with lymphoma in February 2024. I've decided to set myself a challenge to mark my remission and improve my physical fitness: to run 12 km in the mountains for the benefit of the Charles-Bruneau Foundation, in reference to the 12 chemo treatments I received.

By funding research and supporting the development of projects dedicated to pediatric hemato-oncology, I hope that families going through the ordeal of cancer can live with the hope of a cure. I would also like to highlight the professionalism and hard work of the entire team in the oncology department at Hotel-Dieu-d'Arthabaska.

Pediatric cancer in Quebec

• Every day in Quebec, a child is diagnosed with cancer.
• Every week in Quebec, a child dies of cancer.
• Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children aged 0 to 18.
• Cancer strikes 1 in 400 children before the age of 15.
• More than half of these children are under 5 years of age at the time of diagnosis.
• The cure rate for the main types of cancer has risen from 30% in 1980, to over 80% today.
